Biceps tendon problems in the shoulder are a common cause of anterior shoulder pain. The condition of the biceps tendon can be estimated from the exam that Dr. Walker performs on you in the office and from advanced imaging studies like MRIs; however, the best way to assess the biceps tendon is with direct visualization at the time of shoulder arthroscopy. Some biceps tendon lesions can be treated nonoperatively; some require surgery. Dr. Walker will help you make the best decision for your symptoms.
